The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes

Here’s How To Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes
Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now willing in this business.
However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.
Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.
Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is “hot”. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.
Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.
Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.
Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.
Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.
True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.
The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.
The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.
Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.
As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.
Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.
Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.
Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if youa re in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

Make Money Online with Top Affiliate Programs

Guest post by Khareem

Everyone wants their home internet business to making them as much money as possible. How much money you actually make is determine by the types of affiliate programs you choose to promote on you site, and there is a wide variety of programs you could join. There are so many affiliate programs on the internet that it's so hard to mention all of them. But you will get the best.

Staying relevant to your main niche or subject matter is of course one of the major things you should consider to be successful. Let say for example let's say if you have your health related website showing ads about computer parts, chances are you're not going to get good result. On the other hand if you put ads on that site about diet pills etc. You will stand a better chance at raking in the cash and have you home business running the way it should.

The affiliates that you could join that will help you with your home business and will get you earning a good income if you go about advertise it the right way.

One of the top paying affiliate programs is Clickbank which is a nice generator for huge commission. This program is like a product directory for affiliate programs. Many people become a member of Clickbank in order to promote their products which are digital products such as eBooks, software's etc. After those products are accepted by Clickbank and added to their database of products, webmasters like you and I grab at the opportunity to promote these products and get some commission. If you're looking to start a work from home website or already have a website, I would advise you to take a look at some of the products Clickbank have to offer, just check out the Clickbank market place. If you don't have a website that's not a problem, you could learn how to use Google, yahoo or MSN to start and ad campaign and start promoting the link that they give to you and you will be able to keep track of your sales by jus logging in to your Clickbank account.

Another program is Commission Junction. This company is another one of the leaders in affiliate marketing. Commission Junction provides their affiliates with quality product to promote because the advertisers/Merchants the sells the products are relatively bigger and better developed companies. This is a very good advantage for the affiliates because they can promote products that are reliable and keep their websites trustworthy.

Websponsors is another affiliate program. These costs per action affiliate programs are great for adding revenue to your bottom line through your web site.

One of our favorite income earners for webmasters is Google ad sense. It is very popular website owners and bloggers. With Google you can paste the code into you site and get pays every time someone clicks on it, But one the things you should avoid is clicking those ads yourself. That's a guarantee to get banned from the program. For a starter you can make over $400 dollars a week or maybe even more from Google ad sense.

So if you want to be on the road to making money online with your work from home business then these are some of the programs you could get involved with but remember these programs won't start making money until u start to attract visitors/traffic to your site.

Increase CTR, "technical" or "art"?

The ratio CTR (Click Through Rate) is one of the indicators to assess the ad or marketing, you make to customers (Adv), of course, only this number is only a relatively few children. CTR highly doubt that you have a marketing well, it only reflects the number of people clicking / turn pages views of the site ban.Chi number CTR often only achieved an average 0.02 to 0,025% for a banner ad program of long-term . For the short term, you can achieve or 0.1% to 30% depending on the type of ad, ad time and "art" of your ads. Therefore, increased CTR is a criteria that we Publisher target, it is also a measure of relative accuracy for effective QC of you (if you're an honest person).

'Technical "
Technical increase CTR depends on the layout of your banner, with the color, size banner and collaborated with the structure of your site. Of course the position in Top CTR often higher than other places, if the dexterity you can increase the CTR at all locations on your website and making Member of exciting when you click the banner. 'Technique "will focusing on the placement, layout and the plan chosen by the position you set out. One important factor is changing positions banner, members will find new and curious than if they visited each day and see if there is any change somewhat on your location, is not the time A banner also at the Top, B and hip in line at the foot of C ... Island location will create the banner feeling quite new and of course if you have multiple Adv accept you have and how many banner island dexterity of you will do your web increasingly better, members will be "difficult to bear" Click to view ads and of course $ $ will fall into the bags you have are. The islands of the banner will help you keep them at CTR stability, and long-term course Adv do not doubt you all.
For example, the use of the widget CDT (change things) may have helped you get a lot of clicking (unfortunately garbled also much) and so your CTR for the CDT on QC reality completely higher numbers 0,025%. Banner change often completely can increase the number of your CTR up to 0.05% or more. The banner rotator forms are applied in a number of Affiliate programs abroad are also widely used (Unknow rotator banner of the Lienket247 how? Has been guided but not used).

'Art "
Arts increase CTR depends a lot on your skills, to the content of banner ads and investment on what your customer.
- About skills: This is the most important factors that the blogger often uses. Or an article, there are many interesting information and the sharing of the community will attract viewers of large crowds. And if some layout banner near post, or "quite" relevant to the content will keep members, try clicking immediately. So you are not breaking the law that even the most difficult Adv would also prefer this method.
- Regarding the content banner: Please review the content banner copy to suit tastes at the time of the ad. For example, before the "dark Friday" in the U.S., if 1 banner that says "80-90% discount for all categories of goods, only at ABC" it would like to affirm that the CTR of banner which can completely was 50% (which benefits, who prefer spring). So let's "priority" banner with the contents of the time, the time or the attractive, you will increase the CTR for your website.
- Investment in "research" Member of you: If you understand your members, then you will know they like to see something, or are interested in products and services and what course to be complete by smoking ads do. For example I would like to fish with you that Daughter, there are 90% boi curious about accounting, because death (hehe, sorry sister). So try advertising "Click here to know more secrets of you" (or Type 1 Title exclaim something less than that to think of that), placed in the box "sister" box, then maybe it will tha lake inspired clicking, where every new home must be a click. After a time I use the banner after another was "exploiting" clicking enough for the position of that banner. So, you've become an "art house" in which QC.

In short, "technical" or "art" above casting withdraw from the actual experiences of e-Marketers in the world, for the Vietnamese market, we may not be able to statistical effects, habits of Internet users and "well, art" of the Publishers. CTR indicators of the websites also vary a lot by the webmaster where the same, more of Ads "Made in Vietnam" is too small for us to exploit the "well, art" of this.

Which Google Adsense ad format is the best?

I entered the width and height for every available format of text/image ad unit, and then calculated the area and aspect ratio for each. The results are shown below, sorted descending by greatest advert area:
Name Width Height Area Aspect Ratio
Wide Skyscraper 160 600 96000 3.75
Large Rectangle 336 280 94080 1.20
Medium Rectangle 300 250 75000 1.20
Skyscraper 120 600 72000 5.00
Leaderboard 728 90 65520 8.09
Square 250 250 62500 1.00
Small Square 200 200 40000 1.00
Vertical Banner 120 240 28800 2.00
Banner 468 60 28080 7.80
Small Rectangle 180 150 27000 1.20
Button 125 125 15625 1.00
Half Banner 234 60 14040 3.90

Note that Google say that the three best-performing ad units are the Large Rectangle, Medium Rectangle, and Wide Skyscraper. Well, these are precisely the top three in this list.

So, it looks as though ads that cover a large area on the page get the most clicks. This is, of course, intuitively sensible. However, I wonder if the trend continues down the list; this would make Half Banner the worst format available.

And, you will choose which size of ads for your website?

Top 10 Google AdSense Tips

AdSense Tip #1: Find your keywords

Before serving ads on a web page, check its keyword density. A free and advanced tool for finding the most prominent keywords in a page can be found here: SEO Density Analyzer. Copy the most important keywords to a text file ([web page name]-adsense-keywords.txt).

AdSense Tip #2: Improve your keywords

Get keyword suggestions from Overture Search Inventory and from Google AdWords Sandbox. Get new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance. Enter the keywords from [web page name]-adsense-keywords.txt and save the suggestions to [web page name]-adsense-suggestions.txt.

AdSense Tip #3: Keep your website focused on a theme

Use the keyword suggestions to enhance your web pages and to build theme-based content. And also try to get your keywords into the anchor text of your incoming links as much as possible. Don’t forget that Google AdSense is keyword-targeted advertising: Google AdSense bases its advert topics on your websites content, this means that content-rich websites of a popular topic should attract a large amount of ads.

AdSense Tip #4: Write a new page every day

One of the best tips is to add a new page to your web site every day. The more content you have, the more visitors you will get. Put an Adsense unit on each and every content page of your site. But where? You will find more about that from the next AdSense tips.

AdSense Tip #5: Choose the right AdSense format

Wider formats are successful because the ads are compact, easy to read and are complementary to the content. The top three AdSense formats are:
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 medium rectangle
160×600 wide skyscraper

Another successful format is the 468×15 horizontal ad links, that can be placed under your navigation bar.

AdSense Tip #6: Color tips

When creating your Google AdSense ads it is recommended to use the color scheme and style of your website so that the ads blend in well. Ads without background color and borders perfom better than ads within borders with background color.

Create a custom AdSense palette:
border color = background color of your web site
background color = background color of your web site
link color = blue, color of your links
url color = black, #999999
text color = black, #333333, color of your main content
You can also rotate your color palette: select multiple color palettes that blend with your site to create variety.

AdSense Tip #7: Position tips

Visitors tend to look at the big headlines to see if your page is worth reading. If you get them interested, they will read the text and look for your navigation links.

Place the AdSense ads in a prominent place around the top/left part of your page or under your headlines, where your visitors are most likely to look at.

If you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is a good place for AdSense ads because your visitors read the text and then they want more resources.

AdSense Tip #8: Increase the number of ads, but not too much

If you have a lot of text on a page, use multiple AdSense units. You can use up to three AdSense units on a page, two AdSense search boxes and one unit of ad links.

Link units allow the user to refine what they’re interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they’ll be able to specify that they’re interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear.

AdSense for Search allows visitors to search Google.com or your sites (up to 3 domains). You earn money whenever they click on the ads that come up on the search results. If you click the Open search results in a new browser window checkbox in the AdSense for Search settings, you won’t lose your visitors.

AdSense Tip #9: Preview Google ads

You can find out what ads will be served by Google AdSense if you install Google AdSense Preview Tool, a very simple tool available only for Internet Explorer 6.0. Click to advertiser sites without generating invalid clicks, and easily add their URLs to your URL filter list. Because AdSense uses geo-targeting, Google serves different ads for other countries. Instead of faking your IP or travelling abroad to test your ads, use this AdSense tool to see what ads see your visitors from France, Germany or other countries.

There may be no Google AdSense ads available for your webpage, so Googlw will display Public Service Ads. You can hide them using alternate colors or images. Make sure you include the image in a simple html file as a link (use target=”_top”). The image size should be the same as the dimension of AdSense units. In the alternate url box, enter the absolute url of the html file.

Read more about alternate ads.

AdSense Tip #10: What not to do

Don’t click on your own ads
Don’t ask others to click on your Google ads
Don’t manually change AdSense code
Don’t place Google ads on sites that include prohibited content (e.g.: adult sites)
Don’t employ cloaking, hidden text or farm links
Don’t use AdSense ads on the same page with similar ads (e.g.: Yahoo Publisher Network)

How to Avoid Denial from the CPM Ads Networks

By Frank Sims in Marketing
With the big Ad Networks touting ever expanding reach and a firm grasp of the “Long-Tail”, it almost seems like a slap in the face when you receive that denial letter stating that “your site is not a proper fit for our network at this time”. Well don’t worry, it may not be due to the fact that your site has an unpleasant design or inferior content, you may have just broken one of the ad network’s 7 deadly publisher sins.
To help guide you through the treacherous submission process, here is a list of the seven deadly sins publishers make when applying to the big CPM networks
  1. Use an email associated with the domain you are submitting.
This is often the first strike against a publisher. The network’s must first confirm ownership of the web property and if you use a free email (i.e. mycoolsite@yahoo.com) you could get sent straight to the trash bin.
  2. Make sure your site is free and clear of any profane language. With advertisers ever increasing demand for transparency and quality control, finding a four letter word on your site can spell disaster for your site’s application. For all you forum owners, make sure you do a thorough clean up of any postings that may have recently gotten a little out of control.
  3. Don’t be a forum. You saw that one coming, didn’t ya? Yes it is true the big bad Ad Networks are terribly scared of your little forum. For reasons stated in Sin #2, forums with unmoderated content can send shivers down account reps spines when a call comes in from an irate client who is demanding an explanation as to why her Disney ad is smashed up next to bit of less than flattering content on your forum. However, there is an exception to this rule. If your forum is related to a very specific (and profitable) niche category or topic such as Toyota Trucks, you could possibly slip right in.
  4. Provide a Default Ad TagCertain networks request a sample default ad tag. This seems like a needless bother, but if you fail to provide one you will be getting the dreaded denial letter very soon in your in-box. Just give them something, even if it’s not your own default code. You can change it once you have been accepted into the network. It’s just to prove that you are working with another legitimate network and that you aren’t going to be serving up blank ads once they eventually run out of their super sweet CPM network ads.
  5. Unlock Your Domain PrivacyPrivacy is a big concern for all of us. While you are in the application process with big networks you need to unlock your domain’s privacy setting. This will allow you to prove ownership. Once you have been let into the network, then you can lock it back up.
  6. Don’t Call the Network This may be one of the most important rules of all. Theses networks are bombarded with a deluge of emails and phone calls from eager publishers all day long. They have plenty of choices to choose from and the publishers who they assume will be a pain in their back sides are likely to get an immediate deletion of their site application.
  7. Don’t Lie About Your Traffic Levels Yes, we all do it. We say our blogs get 1.2 million page views a day when in fact it’s closer to 1.2. Why this is even still on the application form of the major ad networks, I have no idea. Be realistic about where you are. They have systems in place that tell them exactly how much traffic you are getting, so the closer you are to the reality, the closer you are to getting in!
I hope this information helps you understand why your sites have been getting the big ax from the network behemoths.

Google Adsense Secrets and G.A. Secrets Revealed free ebook

In today's world, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.
AdSense is a wonderful advertising concept that was conceived by Google some time back. Though new advertising concepts keep coming up all the time, this one is something that is altogether different.
Now that we've covered those aspects of adsense, let's turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.
AdSense (Google's advertising program) presents an earning opportunity to the website owners by allowing Google to post advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are either text advertisements or image based advertisements. Of course, the website owners need to enroll to the AdSense program through Google's website (https://www.google.com/AdSense).
Google AdSense program requires you (the website owner) to include a piece of code (a programming script) on your website. You can add this piece of code anywhere in the html code of your website i.e. depending on where you want to position the advertisements (however, there are certain rules that you must follow while pasting this scripting code).
This piece of code is what determines the structure of advertisements and their content (and this is what helps Google in floating the advertisements on your website). When people visit your website they are able to see these advertisements. Your earnings are based on how many Google Ads are displayed on your website and also based on how many times visitors to your website actually click on one of those Ads. The Google AdSense system calculates your revenue on per-click (CPC) and per-thousand-Ads-displayed (CPM) basis. The latter is also known as impressions.
For people who want to advertise their products and services through the Google AdSense system, it's just a matter of signing up through Google Adwords program and letting Google know how much they want to spend towards advertising through Google AdSense. These businesses can specify the limit and Google AdSense system will accordingly serve their Ads so as to ensure that the specified limit is not crossed. Google AdSense increases the visibility of their business/ services and also increases traffic to their website; hence fulfilling their purpose of advertising.
Sometimes it's tough to sort out all the details related to this subject, but I'm positive you'll have no trouble making sense of the information presented above.

Text Ad Exchanges - A New and Free Way to Advertise

Today text ad exchanges are becoming very popular and dozens of new text ad exchanges are being launched all over the internet. These can be a very effective way of drawing large amounts of traffic to your website and in this article we will consider how you can get the most from them.
Join as Many Text Ad Exchanges as Possible
The first tip I would give is to join as many text ad exchanges as you can manage. At the moment many of these are still very small with only a few having over a thousand members. In order to reach as many people as possible you therefore want to join as many exchanges as possible.
Upgrade Where Possible
Some text ad exchanges at the moment are offering free pro upgrades if you get in early and it is wise to take advantage of these. If they are not then take a look at your advertising budget and upgrade where possible. Look for those that offer the best advantages to pro customers and upgrade in these exchanges first.
Earn as Many Points as You Can (or Buy Them)
The best way to get points on these exchanges is to earn them through clicking on members ads, referring others, etc. This means that you can get all your advertising free by exchanging these points. If you have limited bandwidth though this can really eat into it so you may want to just buy your points.
Refer Others
Referring others usually earns you more points to spend on advertising but may even be a business opportunity in itself as many text ad exchanges also give you some sort of commission for pro upgrades and some even pay you for referring free members.
Text ad exchanges are just one of the many ways that you can get free advertising for your online, home-based business. Take advantage of their features and see a sudden increase in the number of people visiting your website.
This article was written by Mandy Buchanan. You can find a list of text ad exchanges on her hub page on text ad exchanges, or find other free business opportunities and marketing tools at her Free Biz Opps Blog.

Ways to Make Money Online

money

There are many ways to make money online. I like to group them into three main categories:

  1. Making money selling your stuff

  2. Making money selling other people’s stuff

  3. Getting paid to do something

Let’s talk a little more about each of these categories…

Way #1 – Making money selling your stuff
When most people think of starting a business they think of selling their own stuff. Here are some of the ways that people sell their own stuff online:

  1. Selling products
When I started out online my intention was to create educational software and sell it online. Like myself, most people that start a business online start off with the idea of selling a product. Almost every product imaginable can be sold online. Arguably, the easiest to create are information products.

  2. Selling Services/Freelancing
One of the quickest ways to start making money online is by selling your services. You call sell all kinds of services online. Some of the more common online services being sold are web design, freelance writing, coaching/teaching, virtual assistants, copywriting, traffic generation, and software development.

  3. Domaining
Domaining is essentially the process of buying and selling domains. While I own quite a few domains, most of them were bought with the purpose of developing them at some point in time. Although, I would be willing to sell some of them. For example, when John Reese bought trafficjam.com I wish he had contacted me about buying one of my domains blogtrafficjam.com, since I am not sure I will develop the idea I had for it when I bought it several years ago.

  4. Website Flipping
Website flipping is a very tempting business model to me. Flipping websites is a lot like flipping houses. You buy a website with the sole purpose of making it better so that you can turn around sell it. Much like house flipping, you should buy a website with good potential that is not properly monetized and/or not properly designed and marketed. After “rehabbing” the website, you can sell it at a much higher price. This process sounds like fun to me, except that I would have a hard time parting with the site after fixing it. I am more likely to buy a website, fix it up, and keep it for the residual income.

There are other ways to make money selling your own stuff, but the ones listed above are the most common.

Way #2 – Making money selling other people’s stuff

  1. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money online, and I will be discussing it in much more detail in a future series (or a free mini-course). Essentially, affiliate marketing is revenue sharing between online advertisers/merchants and online publishers/salespeople, whereby affiliates(publisher/sales people) are paid based on performance measures, typically in the form of sales, clicks, registrations, or a combination of methods. In layman’s terms, it means you get a percentage of a sale when you sell someone else’s stuff or cause someone to take an action that might sell someone else’s stuff. It is currently my primary method of making money online.

  2. Advertising Income
Many websites make money by selling advertising space on their site. This is most commonly done on content sites. Advertising income can also be gained through other methods like selling ad space on website templates and selling ad space in newsletters.

  3. Drop Shipping
Drop shipping is a technique where you sell products from one or more suppliers who take care of shipping the products directly to the customer. All you do is take the order and get the money from the customer, then you send the order details and and part of the money that you charge to the supplier. You make profit on the difference between the suppliers price (including shipping) and the price you charge the customer. This is essentially running a wholesale business without the inventory, although you will usually pay somewhere between true wholesale and retail prices for the goods. I have seen a lot of people run drop shipping businesses on ebay.

  4. Retail commerce
Retail commerce is where you buy products at wholesale prices from wholesale distributors, carry an inventory and turn around and sell said products. Many of the ecommerce shops you see are doing this. This model is similar to drop shipping. The advantage of this method is that you can make a higher profit margin then with drop shipping, the disadvantage is that you store the inventory and you handle the details of shipping the products.

These are the most common methods for selling other people’s stuff online, although certainly not the only ones.

Way # 3 – Getting Paid To Do Something

  1. Paid to sites (Paid to surf, Paid to take surveys, etc.)
With “paid to” sites you can make a little extra money online every month. You can’t really use these sites to make a living online (at least not that I’m aware of), so I won’t be devoting more space to them here. If you’re interested in a little extra cash, and this method appeals to you, there is plenty of information available on the internet. And if you ARE making a living from these sites, and you’d be interested in writing a series on the topic, contact me.

As you are considering how YOU want to make big money online, this list should prove a good starting place . In my next post in the getting started series, I will be wrapping up with a list of resources to help you continue your quest to make money online.

When people do searches on your site google pays the domain company and the domain company pays you a certain percentage of that money. Pretty easy. Check out Parked, they are THE best!

Freelance - This is pretty simple. If you can provide a service to someone, you can sell it online. How To Make Money Online

Let me start off by saying that there are a lot of different ways to make money online. I prefer to get into projects that continue to make money, even after the work is done. When I started learning how to make money online I was looking for passive income, what I have come to find is that nothing is really passive in this business. However, by developing sites that don’t require a lot of time to run you can leverage your time across many different websites. I’ve chosen to work 3 different angles within my business model.

Blogging - Of the three business models I use is blogging. Blogging is the most time intensive, however the fringe benefits are high. When you are starting out, you’re going to have a lot of questions, with a blog you begin to accumulate friends and they will help you out when you are stuck on something. It is truly amazing when you find yourself stuck on a problem with your website and you put a post up and you get an answer you were looking for. With your blog you can make money selling advertising space, affiliate products, and sponsored reviews.

Content Sites/Niche Blogs - it is important to not put all of your make money eggs in one basket. With that said, google adsense is the most appealing business model I have found. To give you an example I own a site about cheap airsoft guns, last month it pulled in 40 dollars and I’ll I did to get that money was to build additional links. These techiques aren’t that completed, many kids make money this way.

E-commerce - I’m going to start off this section with a disclaimer, I currently don’t run any ecommerce sites. The reason why, is that my current motivation is to make enough money so I can travel and play and not have to work all the time. For me to not have to work all the time and be able to travel I need to make around $2,000/month. 2K a month should be doable between the blog and the content sites if I put in a solid year of work. However, in the future I think I’d like to have a family and when that happens I want to be making more than this. So, for right now I’ve picked 8 niches and registered domains. I’ve been slowly sending links to the domains so when I do develop them out I will already have some keyword authority for my main keyword making it easier to rank for the long tail keywords. Long term, I think e-commerce sites are the way to make money on line.

Easy Way To Make $150 Per Day Offline

I typically share online business ideas here, but I came up with this idea a couple weeks ago and figured you could benefit from it. This one should work in any “touristy” kind of area. Here’s how this business would work…

When I was in Vegas a few weeks ago, my wife and I were standing in front of the Bellagio. It was a beautiful scene with the palm trees and fountains in the background.

I couldn’t help but notice all the people taking photos in this one spot. I watched literally 30 people in a ten minute timespan fumbling around to take a “family photo” of their crew in Vegas. Some people would ask a stranger to take a picture for them so everyone could be in the picture at once. Others were too paranoid to give their camera to a stranger so someone always got left out.

That’s when I thought of this idea…

If you are near an area with lots of tourists, you can take this simple idea and probably make lots of money doing it.

Here’s how it works:

First, dress in a decent/clean outfit and make a sign to hang around your neck that says “Will take your family photo with your camera for free…tips appreciated”.

I know I would give someone a buck or two to snap a photo of all of us on vacation, especially knowing this person wasn’t going to take off with my $400 digital camera.

If you are standing near a popular attraction or beautiful background with lots of people around, you should be able to snap a picture every 2-3 minutes!

So let’s run the numbers… a $2.00 “tip” for taking a picture, and taking 25 pictures per hour would put an easy $50 per hour in your pocket.

Not bad money for easy work that makes people happy! You could do this to pay for your vacation even. If the hotel room is $150/night, you just have to snap pictures for 3 hours and your room is paid for, right?

You might want to check out the laws in your area before trying this, just to make sure there are no city ordinances against this type of thing. It sounds good in theory, I’m not an attorney, so use this idea at your own risk, I assume no responsibility if you get arrested :)

I would be interested to hear from someone who tries this to see if it works out as I “picture” it. Ok, that was pretty bad I know…

What Online Business Should You Start?

A very common question, especially from people new to internet marketing is “what business should I start” or “what niche market should I get into” or my favorite “what is the most profitable business topic”.

My answer…

There are NO bad markets! I know, that’s different from what most people will say, but hear me out…

It doesn’t matter if you want to start a business selling shoes online, become a freelance writer, or even give tattoo advice (yes, I made money online doing just that!).

Whatever you want to do, you CAN do it online and you CAN make money doing it. There are however, a few “guidelines” I follow when picking a business topic or niche market.

  1. The bigger the market, the more money can be made. This is pretty obvious, but many people overlook the concept. Obviously there are more people who want to lose weight than there are people who want to teach their cat to do back flips. Don’t be scared of getting into big markets though. Just because that’s where the “big boys” (or girls) play doesn’t mean there isn’t room for you to come in and get a piece of the pie. In fact, I prefer large markets over small niche markets any day (for reasons you’ll learn about below)…
  2. The group of people you are targeting have to be willing to spend money (or at least do something for you that earns you money - ie click your ads). Again, the more money people have to spend, the more you can make. BUT, just because you want to get into a market that doesn’t have much money, it doesn’t mean you can’t make money from that business idea. Look at all those celebrity gossip blogs and websites. Those site owners have readers who rarely buy products from them, but they are earning millions of dollars by displaying ads to the hundreds of thousands of visitors they who are reading their websites each day.
  3. Pick a topic that is interesting to you. If you are not interested in the business, you will not be motivated to work on the business. I fell in that trap a couple times, and the most money I’ve ever made online was with businesses that I was passionate about. It doesn’t feel like work when you do something you love doing.
  4. Pick a topic that other companies would be interested in. Like I always say, your business exit strategy should ALWAYS be to sell your website at some point. When I start a business online, one of my first steps is to find a company that I would like to get acquired by one day. I build the business to compliment nicely with this other business right from the start. I try to target their same customer demographic, offer similar but non-competing products, maybe join their affiliate program to begin building a business relationship with that company, etc. Then when I want to sell the business, it’s practically sold before I even list it for sale because it’s such a perfect match for them. Big businesses grow by acquiring smaller businesses like yours, get used to the idea and you might get rich in the process…
(even if you don’t end up selling your website to this company, there will likely be others like them that will want to buy your business, such as their competitors!)
  5. Try to stay away from trends or fads. Things like “specialized diets” (ie Atkins) that fade away a few months after they are released are not good business models. Yes, you can make money from trends and fads, but it’s not a very good long term plan.

It really depends on your goals and how much money you want to make. If you are happy with earning an extra $300 per month from your web business, then you can start almost any kind of website to make that much money. If you want to make at least $75,000 per month, then you need to focus on the bigger markets and be prepared to work a little harder.

I know most of these tips you’ve never heard before, but I guarantee it’s the most valuable advice you’re going to find online.

How To How to Really Make Money on the Internet With an Amazon.com Affiliate Site

You've probably heard before a lot of hype about how much money you can make with affiliate programs. Maybe you've even set up a site yourself, only to find that after buying the domain, a few bucks a month in hosting, software or a web designer to design your site, etc., that the piddly affiliate fees hardly even covered your cost. Well, here's the hype-free way to really make money with an Amazon.com affiliate site. And it'll only take a day to make the site. The secret? Low cost, low effort.
Difficulty: Hard
Time Required: One day

Here's How:

  1. If you don't already know it, learn some basic HTML. You have to do this to keep your costs down and still get what you want. Even if the site is basically laid out for you, you're going to need to know how to insert images, create hyperlinks, and do some basic text formatting. Our HTML Guide offers a free 10-week HTML class and a great collection of beginning HTML tutorials. Get over any anxiety you have about this. Just do it. You'll thank me for it later.
  2. Decide on your topic. You're going to be doing product reviews and recommendations, so pick a topic that you enjoy and know something about. If you can't stay passionate about the topic, that will show, and it also won't hold your interest. Choose a narrow enough niche to be distinctive, e.g., bands from your city, left-handed guitarists, music for a certain kind of dancing, authors of a certain religion, books about arts & crafts, etc.
  3. Choose your domain name. Make it keyword-rich, not clever. Think how people will find your site in the search engines. Here are some ideas (all available when I first wrote this, though a cfew have been snatched up):
    Music: BandsFromTexas.com, BandOutOfBoston.com, SouthpawGuitarists.com, ClassicPsychedelia.com, Non-Stop-Hip-Hop.com, Merengue-Music.com
    Books: Mormon-Authors.com, Arts-and-Crafts-Books.com, Books-by-Stephen-King.com, ClassicBusinessBooks.com
    Others: Best-Baby-Toys.com, MomsMags.com, FelliniMovies.com
  4. Register your domain name. If you're not technically inclined at all, register your domain wherever you set up your hosting in step 5. Otherwise, you can save a few bucks by choosing a lower-cost provider. Not a big deal for one or two sites, but it can be for ten or twenty. I use GoDaddy, who have great domain management tools and are less than $10 a year. The least expensive I've found from a reputable source is 1&1, whose price is around $7 a year last I checked.
  5. Set up your web hosting. This is where most people get burned. For this kind of site, you do not need $10 a month web hosting! Our Online Business Guide has a list of Cheap Web Hosting for Under $10. Some are as little as $4 a month, with unlimited domains, i.e., you can run several sites like this on the same hosting package.
  6. Install blog software. "Blog, you say?" Yes. It will give your site all the structure you need, plus make it easy to quickly post new content. My pick is WordPress, which is open source (i.e., free), easy to install and use, and yet very powerful. Many hosts have a one-step installation process for it, or you can download it and follow their installation instructions.
  7. Make it pretty. One of the great things about WordPress is the huge variety of templates available for it -- they can completely change the look-and-feel. Our Weblogs Guide has a list of 5 Sites for Free Wordpress Themes, where you can find hundreds of free WordPress themes.
  8. Set up categories. Most blog software allows you to create sub-categories to help organize your entries. This will help visitors narrow in even more specifically on their interests. For example, BandsFromTexas.com might have one group of categories for genre — rock, country, blues, etc. — and another for city of origin — Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc.
  9. Sign up as an Amazon Associate. It's simple and free. Just visit Amazon and click on the Join Associates link at the bottom of the page (here's a direct link for your convenience). Your site should already have at least the basic setup done, even if you don't have any content there yet, as they'll review the site manually before approval.
  10. Create your blog posting bookmarks/links. There are two links that are going to be essential for you to make this easy. First is the blog posting link. In your blog software, on the posting page (see their instructions), at the bottom of the page there should be a "bookmarklet". Click on the link (and hold the mouse) and drag it up to your Links toolbar in your browser (assuming Internet Explorer), or your Favorites menu. This will allow you to blog a product with one mouse click.
  11. Create your Amazon Build-A-Link bookmark/link. This will make it easy to build the link with your affiliate ID built in. Log in to Associates Central, look in the left navigation sidebar, go to Build-A-Link, and under Static Links, find Individual Items. Click and drag this onto your Links toolbar or Favorites menu.
  12. Build your first link. Go to Amazon and log in with your Associates account. Find the product you want to review and use the Site Stripe (gray stripe at the top of the screen that you'll see when logged in as an Associate) to get your personalized link to the item. They also offer a variety of other options for creating links and banners.
  13. Blog your review. Now click on your blog posting link (Press It! by default in WordPress). If you're using WordPress, you should now see two pieces of link code in your posting form, the first one ending with "Associates Build-A-Link >< /a >". Delete through that point. The second part is a link to the product with your Amazon Associate ID built in. Now just write your product review, choose the appropriate categories for it, and hit Publish.
  14. Build out your site. Before you promote your site, you want to have some substantial content there. Write several product reviews. Have at least 2-3 in each category you've created. You may also want to make a categories for articles, news, and commentary about your topic. The more content your site has, the better. And the great thing is that while you're writing all this, the search engines are getting notified automatically, assuming you turned on the notifications mentioned in step 6.
  15. Promote your site. The best free way to do this is to communicate with other bloggers writing about similar topics, and to participate in online communities where your topic is discussed. See the Online Business Networking category for ideas, as well as the Internet Marketing category.

Tips:

  1. You have to learn some basic HTML and basic concepts about running a web site. It's just not that hard. If you have to rely on purchased software, you won't be able to get exactly what you want, you won't know what to do when things go wrong, and you'll end up spending money you don't need to. Spend the time to learn it. It will be well worth the investment.
  2. I slightly recommend music over books and other products, mainly because you can listen to the clips of an entire album in about 10 minutes and get a good enough feel for it (without buying it) to do a short review. If you have another topic that you're passionate about, great, but make sure you have a unique angle on the topic. People can get reviews about a lot of those consumer products anywhere. You need to give them a reason to come to your site.
  3. To pick up some extra pennies, sign up for Google AdSense. It probably won't generate a lot of revenue, but it's free to sign up and completely effortless to maintain.
  4. Set reasonable expectations for earnings. You've only invested $20. You're going to make 5% on most products. That means that you need to sell $400 worth of stuff to make back your investment. To make $20 an hour, what you write must generate $400 worth of purchases. You get credit for other purchases customers you send make while at Amazon besides just the product you linked to, so it's not as hard as it may sound. It won't make you rich, but it's not hard to be profitable, and it builds over time.

What You Need:

  • A credit card with about $20 available

Reader Mail: Making Money Online Without a Web Site and Without Selling Anything

A reader wrote me this week with the following question:

Hi there,

I just read your article on setting up a web page to blog and make money as an Amazon.com affiliate.

I have to admit, I am lost...I would love to do something on the net to make extra money but, technically, I havent a clue...I saw you had about 10 steps, of which, I probably understood about 2...Should I take that HTML class first and other things will be more clear?

I would really appreciate your advice as my family needs the extra income. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Phil

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time with it, but in all fairness, I did put "Difficulty: Hard" on the how-to guide. :-)

Here's the thing about making money online...

10+ Unusual Ways To Make Easy Money On The Internet If You Love Writing.

Here are some easy ways to make money, if you like writing. (I probably should have said simple ways to make money, rather than easy ways to make money, because there is a difference between simple and easy. But who cares, this is about how to make easy money quickly).

1. Make easy money online naming domains. The original idea comes from Dane Carson’s blog. While you can earn money as a contributor for services such as PickyDomains.Com, here is a better idea. Go to Google or any other search engine, find sucky domain names and contact their owners directly, offering them your services. The key to success is to make it 100% risk free. Inform your prospective clients that you’ll accept money only if they like your domain name. If you come up with one approved domain name a day and charge what PickyDomain charges, you can make $1500 a month. Another twist – come up with cool domain names, like SiteToRemember.Com or ItsMe.Com, register them yourself and sell them on the aftermarket.

2. eBay arbitrage. A lot of people like buying stuff on eBay, because it’s cheap. And some people never buy on eBay, because they are afraid of being ripped off. Here is your solution to making easy money on eBay. Go to Craigslist.Com and see what items people buy and sell most often. Look at prices. Then go to eBay and see, if you can get it cheaper. Once you find your niche, you can buy things on eBay (or better yet, act as a representative for an eBay powerseller) and sell them for a profit using local classifieds and Craigslist. You can do this online as well. Set up a proxy store, and when you get an order, simply buy the same item on eBay for less, substituting shipping address from your own to that of your buyer.

3. eBay copywriting. If you are good at copywriting, go to eBay and look for highticket items, like boats. Find auctions with totally sucky descriptions. Contact an owner and inform him or her that good description of his or her item is likely to increase the chances of that item being sold. Then offer your services for a 1% of the selling price. You can use free eBay software

4. Get Paid Writing Reviews. This idea comes from a blog called Business Ideas That Work. A site called SoftwareJudge.Com pays up to 50 dollars per good review. However, if you are good at reviewing software, you can do this on your own. Go to CNET or any other site that lists software. Find sites that don’t have any reviews or testimonials. Contact developers directly, offering them your review services. Good reviews and testimonials increases sales, so you shouldn’t have any difficulties convincing developers that they need your services. And you get free software and games too! Oh, and you don't have to limit yourself to software alone.

5. Social Bookmark Whoring (oops, I meant to say PR). This is really easy money online. RedDit and Digg can bring a crapload of traffic. And traffic means money. If you have experience creating linkbate titles and getting to the top, why not offer your services? Say, you charge 10 dollars for submitting news to RedDit, Digg, StumbleUpon, Furl, NewsVine, Fark and all the other social bookmarting sites. The key is to work only with interesting stories, so you don’t become a spammer. 10 news a day and you are 100 dollars richer. You can probably work out a deal with online PR agencies, because they are totally clueless about this.

6. Writing Google AdWords Ads. Every time I see “Cake Icing. Used And New. eBay.Com” type ads or “Four best sites on killing your wife”, it makes me wonder. Aren’t there any GOOD AdWords ads copywriters? Look’s like a great job to me. The ads are only three lines long and if you charge 10 bucks per ad, you can make a lot of money. And the customers are easy to find, too. Just look at all these terrible ads that Google displays on their search engine and contextual network.

7. Wacky blogs. Steve Pavlina gets over 300 dollars a day from AdSense alone, writing on wacky topics, like polyphasic sleep, astral projection and psychic development. Or take David Icke, who claims that president Bush in an alien and a reptilian. Your blog doesn’t have to be true, it just has to be interesting.

8. Blog whoring. There are a number of services, like PayPerPost.Com, that pay for promotional blogposts. Once again, you can do the same thing, cutting the middleman out.

9. Unique Personal Ads. Write memorable personal ads for online daters. Most personal ads suck. “Hi, my name is Bambie, I’m a Vergo, I’m 19 and I love dogs.” Here is my favorite personal ad. If people pay for resume writing, they might pay for a great personal ad.

10. Poet For Hire. This is nothing new. Still, if you love writing poetry, why not make some money with your rhymes.

11. Don’t EVEN THINK about majoring in English, Medieval Literature, Journalism or GET A REAL JOB, IF YOU WERE DUMB ENOUGH TO DO SO. Just kidding. If you love writing, just write, and the money will follow.

Some Easy Ways To Make Money

So you’re looking for easy ways to make money. You aren’t alone, who wouldn’t want to make a lot of money the easy way?

Are There Really Any Methods To Make Money That Are Easy?

I have spent the last few years of my life seeking for methods that I could use to make money and actually have been able to find some easy ways to make money, in fact they are dang easy now that I think about it. The difficulty was actually in finding them, not in the actual use of the methods.

Part of my struggles to find easy ways to make money was that I only cared about finding ways to make money online because I knew that online methods for making money would provide me with huge amounts of leverage - how else can you make money off of people on the other side of the world?

Sorting Through The Junk Ways Of Making Money

This led me to try hundreds of different methods for making money online, most of which were a total waste of time. The methods that actually worked for me were found through trial and error - I created literally hundreds of websites and tested and tested and tested.

It time, I really found an approach that worked out great and I have been following it ever since. One of my sites has already produced close to six figures this year, and others are making me a nice residual every month. Now that I understand the process, it’s truly one of the ‘easy ways to make money’ that we have all looked for.

Learning This Approach To Making Money

Here on the site, I have written over 400 quality articles that will help you learn to make money. Please feel free to use the site.

Make Money Online: The Truth and Nothing But The Truth!

"How to make money online!"
I'm sure you must have seen that a thousand times by now. And here's another one! Well, maybe this one is different. It's the truth about making money online!.

First, if you're looking for a get rich quick system, here's my advice:
leave this site to type that phrase into the search box of your favorite engine. No hard feelings. It just doesn't exists, so I don't write about it. I wish you success.

Second, whatever your niche or topic is: you CAN make money online!

How much you can make highly depends on the niche you're in, the competition there, your dedication to succeed, the time you spend and your skills in internet marketing. Let me explain.

My 'niche' is Internet marketing. That barely is a niche. It's completely overcrowded with hardly any space to manouvre, while a niche means a little, specialized marketplace that is yet to be exploited. So, if you're thinking about making money in Internet marketing you may want to reconsider this. This 'niche' is completely filled.

That also means, that competition is fierce. EVERYBODY and his dog is entering this marketplace.
That makes it very difficult for prospects (that we all are targeting) to separate the wheat from the chaff. There's an immense information overload and people have a real hard time to decide what's good and what's bad. They have to wade through tons of info before they can make the right decision. It would be a lot easier to do so in a not so overcrowded niche.

In contrast to the get rich quick systems, making money on the Internet definitely requires dedication and perseverance. Your absolute, never ending commitment to succeed.
And since you've been reading up till here I tell you something else. You'll definitely need something people in general are very reluctant to use: your brains. You don't have to be a genious. Just common sense. You have to apply that while setting up strategies and in situations we can not foresee. Believe me, despite all the sincere advice you can get on the Net, there still is a lot we cannot anticipate.

You can make a living online while working part-time. It definitely is very do-able. Part time here means: a certain number of days, weeks of even months as much as possible and then, when your online venture is set up, spend less time. Because setting things up the right way requires time. And before you can do that, you'll have to learn how to do it right.

What's even more difficult in Internet marketing are the skills you'll need. Since competition is fierce, only the most talented marketers with excellent online marketing skills can make some money. That's the only way of getting noticed. In my niche there are quite a few savvy Netpreneurs. You should see the immense hurdes that flock around them. You've got to have excellent marketing skills to stay ahead of them.

So ......find your own (little) niche!

You now know what it takes to make money online! Still interested? Here's an overview of possibilities:
